Favorite Fall Festivities

My Favorite Fall Activities in and around Southern Indiana

I love all the seasons, and as try hard to live in the moment, but I truly love SPOOKY season so much. I am a partial stay at home mom, realtor and travel professional. So I stay extremely busy ALL THE TIME, but I will always find the time to take my little one to experience as many fall festivities as possible. Check out my list and email me if you think I missed anything!

The Pumpkin Shed

This is my favorite go to spot in Sellersburg during the fall. They usually open the last week of September and run all through October. They are open 12pm to 7pm, Tuesday - Sunday. I love the Pumpkin shed, because not only do they have the friendliest llama, but I can feed pigs, a cow, goats and hear a turkey gobble at me. They have a mini corn maze, and a haybale box filled with corn kernels for the kiddos to dig and play in. Don't forget to pick out pumpkins to carve once you get home!

Boo at the Louisville Zoo

Looking for a fun way to take your kids trick or treating? Look no further! Get a group of friends together, or invite the grandparents, get dressed up and walk through the mile through the zoo, collecting candy and taking pictures with your favorite characters. We also love the story of the headless horseman. Definitely worth the wait to listen to this story in the gorilla forest. And don't forget beer and other alcoholic beverages are available to purchase for all the adults. Purchase tickets in advance! This event does run out. They run the entire month of October, Thursday - Sunday evenings from 5pm with last ticket entrance at 8:30pm. Pro tip - discount tickets are available at meijer!

Cornucopia Farms

Located in Scottsburg, this family farm has so much to offer! Stop by to visit corn and soybean mazes the petting farm, pumpkin patches, and giant slides. Cornucopia Farm offers something for everyone. With sweet treats, delicious burgers and more available at the Café no one in the family goes hungry! Open Friday, Saturdays and Sundays
Address: 5444 N Rutherford Hollow Rd, Scottsburg, IN 47170

Huber's Family Farm Park

Huber's is always a great place to visit during any time of the year, but especially great during the fall! You can always visit the winery and order some snacks (My favorite is the raspberry chipotle pizza. My husband and I both find ourselves craving this often. Its soooo good!!), but make sure you stop over at the Family Farm Park. Here you can ride the grain train, play on mountain slides, pedal karts or go through the corn, tile or bamboo maze. Open everyday of the week! This is a great one for families wanting to find something to do during the day or weekday evenings.

There are several trunk or treats happening at local churches, like the one on October 24 at Trinity United Methodist in Madison, or St. Michael Trunk or Treat in Charlestown on October 30.
